Have you ever had "custard" that was not in a pie or that brulee thing?

I guess it is like pudding or frozen like ice cream

    Yes, in donuts or as standalone desserts.

    In UK, it's very common to have custard over a dessert. In pubs, there is usually a choice of cream, ice cream or custard.

    Sure.  I make it fairly often.  My kids especially like it when they're sick because it's mild-flavored and goes down easily.  You can buy glass "custard cups" at any store that carries kitchen supplies.  The difference between pudding and custard is that custard has egg in it.
