Why didn't The US make Vietnam The 51st State?

    Over a million Americans have fought, and many of them died, to preserve the freedom of nations all over this world; and the only land the United States ever asked for; was enough land to bury it's dead.

    The Vietnam war was a civil war between north and south Vietnam. The US wasn't invading anybody.
