Is this song explicit?
I was on Spotify listening to A brighter side of suffering by As Blood Runs Black and I saw that it was explicit. So, I looked up the lyrics, and I didn’t see any bad words, so therefore it’s not explicit.

No it’s not explicit. They’re an extreme metal band so it’s hard to understand what they are saying.

Good question about what one means by "explicit"
Is Mighty Tight Woman (Sippy Wallace, Bonnie Raitt) "explicit", even though there are no naughty words (and yes that is exactly what the song is about).
How about Candye Kane's All You Can Eat which is an extended metaphor.

I don't hear any explicit words.
A possibility is that the Album was marked
[Explicit] and individuals songs weren't really checked out
and just marked with the same rating
as the album "Allegiance".
Every single song is marked [Explicit]
on the album/CD on Amazon.
Needles and Hell are mentioned.
However, without the lyrics as aid (from metrolyrics) ,
I would have probably would not have understood 65 % of the lyrics
and maybe the censor's did too.
If they can't understand, then just call it [Explicit].
It is easier that way.
Or maybe the band sells more songs if they label most of the
them explicit whether they are or not.
I intentionally listenned to a version marked explicit, so it isn't
just a clean version you heard.
