Why do we lend any credence to bomb threats any more?
Think about it:
If a terrorist plants a bomb in a building, intent on killing a bunch of people, then they aren't going to call in and warn everyone to evacuate, why would they?
If someone calls my office, laughing like Beavis and Butthead, and says: "There's a bomb in your building, you're all gonna die, yuk yuk yuk...." Then I'm gonna say:
"Yeah buddy, sure there is. Don't quit school, man."
And I have a sneaking suspicion I'd still be alive at the end of the day.
Thousands of bomb threats called in every year, not one of them in the 21st century has there actually BEEN a bomb in the cases where the alleged bomber called in to warn about it.
When there's a real bomb, the discovery is made when it goes off.
