If it wasn't for Germany would most of western Europe be third world countries?

    I mean the UK invented Industrialisation so no. Germany is a bit of a miracle in how it seems to have destroyed and reinvented itself so many times. If you think about it, the UK and France wouldn't have gone through WWII without Germany so they might have actually been even richer than they are now.

    You mean the USA, because after the last world war Germany and most all of Europe was only "saved" by its intervention. Something called the Marshall Plan.

    No France, England, Spain, Portugal were all world powers at one time or another. So they had a strong enough head start to bring in new ideas and money to keep up with the changing times without Germany’s help.
