    (€1.39 / L) x ($1.28/€) x (3.78541 L/gallon) = $6.74/gallon

    (This is more about Mathematics than it is about Chemistry.)

    I bought 87 octane "regular" grade unleaded gasoline today for $2.39 (US) per GALLON.

      Yes... Taxes DO play a large part in retail prices for gasoline.  Where I live, we are just a few  miles from the state line with Washington State, and THEIR gasoline taxes are much higher than they are in Idaho. That's why we get hundreds of people coming across the state line to fill up.

    Basically that would be approximately $6 per gallon. The Europeans are so advanced! The price of gasoline where I live is just $2.38 per gallon!
