Why do Christians think that marriage equals consent to sex?
Nah dude. You being married doesn’t mean you get to rape your SO.

Nobody should be raping anyone. Married or not. You wait until they are awake and wanting it.

You only have to view what's happening in America and the world today to find a good viable answer to that one.
We have a world of believers and non-believers who think they have changed God's course of action on Sex before marriage. GOD HAS NOT waivered or changed his ideals for life .
God presented a list of challenges in our life that best fit all mankind to enable us to have the best possible life we can have. That meant us being clean in thought and action until we found a suitable mate. You only have to look at the statistics of people who engage in sex before or without marriage to know that God was right in HIS ideals for mankind.
That does not give us permission to judge, or hate or disapprove, however. We are no different than the sinner.

Christians don't think that. In fact, celibate marriages in devotion to God are considered very honorable.

"Why do Christians think that marriage equals consent to sex?"
Probably for the same reason that feminists think it's "financial abuse" for a husband to withhold money from his wife. This isn't a Christian thing. This is a historical, traditional thing.
Most of our human history was not like it is today where we are individually emancipated. We used to partner up as men and women and rely on each other for such things that the other could provide for us. The traditional order is so ingrained in us that we still follow much of it to this day. Apparantly though, a lot of this is followed piecemeal depending on what -we- feel is good and/or bad.
So if women do not owe men anything under marriage then neither do men owe women anything under marriage. Why get married at all? What is the actual point??

Because of this passage below.
1Cor 10:2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

That is the best reason there is to avoid religious men that think a marriage license is ownership papers.
I have been married for a long time, to a man who respects me. Christian men in general, do not respect women much, they are property.
No self-respecting woman would sign on to that.

My second answer: christians, from their BuyBull, are taught
that women are little more than chattel/property for their use.
Just like their demiGod, Orange Don.

The answer is because Christians don' think - they just blindly believe.
