What could cause warning light come on?

I own BMW X5 162670 miles.  A month ago tried jump another car and after Trans. FailSafe Pro warning light came on.  Took to BMW dealer and said low voltage codes and erased the code and warning. After 700 miles warning came back and care drives great but with slightly weird shifting.  Took back to BMW dealer and they read no codes and said clutch may be going bad but can’t find what could cause warning come back on other than old car with high miles. What could cause the Trans. FailSafe Prog warning come back on with no codes?

Jumping other cars can suck the juice out of your own battery.  It can overload your alternator.  It can fry circuits in your car's computer systems.  And because it has high mileage, there could be a lot of other unrelated things that are beginning to be noticed.  With such high mileage, you might consider trading it in.  Some might humorously say your car has a galormis in it.

You dont mention the exact year or model of your x5 but the first two generations did have transmission issues specifically with the valve body. Jerky shifts, especially when cold. Scan it again for certain incorrect gear ratio codes.

Sounds like a bad muffler wheel.

Many things so get it put on a diagnostic machine. There is no point guessing. It could be the Oxygen sensor, which is a common fault, or blocked filters, injectors, spark plugs, oil pressure...... etc etc etc.

    • Normal engine light would come on for small problems.

"tried jump another car "(then basically from that point on, car went weird.  YOU Probably cooked your alternator.  That is what normally happens when jumping...you lose.  Get them to check alternator output.  Because THAT IS THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE DONE OUT OF THE ORDINARY.

    • No, car starts up fast and normal .  I think too the car is weird now.   In past BMW has acted weird from time to time then went away.

Live with it.  It could be a false warning.  Do not lose your savings fixing something that might not be broken.

    • I think too it’s false warning since no codes and take great care of it or spent as much new car fixing it.
