When you get glasses for the first time for distance, is everything supposed to look a little magnified?

I thought everything would look normal, just clear, but everything is slightly bigger.

I don't know if that is normal or if the doctor made a little mistake.

Yes it is perfectly normal and you will get used to it! It is a wonderful feeling to be able to see correctly isn't it!

Depends on prescription.  A +sphere prescription for farsightedness will make things look bigger or closer,  you get used to it.

It is pretty normal for things to look different along with being clearer. It is especially true if you have any astigmatism correction. Along with bringing things into focus, the lenses in glasses make things look smaller, larger or even a different shape. Glasses do this more than contacts do. Sometimes people describe changes different from what would be expected on the basis of optics.
