Will ashwagandha make me gain weight/make me fat? ?

Your question is the reason one should thoroughly educate themselves on any supplements they consider taking, which means internet research and reading.
Some side effects listed at the source site are:
Possible lowered blood sugar
Possible decreased blood pressure
Possible increase of symptoms of autoimmune disorders
May slow the central nervous system
May increase thyroid levels
Do further research to see if you find other sites that agree with the findings I posted. There may be other possible side effects, but weight gain doesn't appear to be a direct side effect.

No, but it's not useful against anxiety if that's what you want to use it for. And it has not been tested in serious, high-quality clinical trials.

Increased appetite and/or weight gain are not listed as side affects but there are a lot of other warnings that go with it. As with any drug that hasn't been extensively tested, be very careful with it.
