First degree burns do not cause scars (mild reddening of your skin, like a basic sunburn)

Second degree burns blister. When skin heals and the blister comes away, there might be a skin color discoloration. If you keep the area lightly covered and don't expect it to sunlight/tanning there should not be a problem. There is only permanent scarring if it gets infected.

Third degree has high risk for scarring and discoloration

If you peel the skin off yes it can cause scarring. Best to let the skin fall off when its ready which will minimize scarring
