He knew he was already going away for a long time for shooting the sheriff and one murder conviction was plenty for him.

Eric Clapton shot the sheriff. Bob Marley was a poser.

The sheriff shot the deputy because he was banging the sheriff's wife, Layla, in the sheriff's brand new truck. The sheriff had a very small service weapon and his wife needed more. The deputy was very buff and well hung and she couldn't control herself.

The sheriff never liked Eric Clapton and believed he had also had an affair with Layla and got her hooked on cocaine. It didn't help that he caught Clapton laying down Sally (the sheriff's daughter) in the barn after midnight. So, the sheriff framed Clapton.

If he is telling the truth, then someone else shot the deputy but he got blamed.  Perhaps Sheriff John Brown framed him. He claims the sheriff always had it in for him.

They say they want to bring me in guilty

For the killing of a deputy,
