The planned SR-72 is a UAV, not a manned fighter. It will have zero air-to-air capability.

Neither the U-2 nor the SR-71 are generation anything fighters, because *neither one is a fighter aircraft*.

Lockheed's SR-72 IS NOT a "fighter" aircraft! In fact, like the SR-71, it carries NO WEAPONS of ANY kind! It is designed strictly for high-speed and high-altitude reconnaissance.

The Blackbird has never, in any categorisation, been considered a fighter.

No, because it will be a Strategic Reconnaissance (hence the "SR") aircraft, NOT a fighter.

Neither are fighter planes they are recognizance aircraft. In other words, "spy planes". There is no generation assigned to these aircraft as they are one of a kind that are updated as new technology comes along.

The SR-72 (or the SR-71 or U-2) are not fighter planes.
