What is a commission only job?
I need it broken into small details. Like will I still get paid without sales?

You'll make nothing if you don't get sales. But if you're good at it and learn the secrets that the top salespeople know then you'll make as much as them eventually. That's what my brother did.
Also, that's what a good salesperson does. But, you'll have to be willing to learn the pitch body language etc. Depending of course on what you're selling and how you're selling; in person, over the phone, in-store etc.

No. You will get ZERO without making a sale. Commission only is getting paid a percentage on the sales you personally make.Source(s): Certified Paralegal, with 25+ years' experience & with Employment law experience.

Commission only means just that! You only get paid on the commission of your sales. No sales means no commission means no money coming in!

No. A commission only job only pays you based on what you sell. It is not a good choice for a lot of people. If you're good at it, you can do well, but it can be tough at times.

No sales, no pay. Some might pay you min wage against commission but if you don't make enough in commissions to offset it, they will fire you. Some jobs have a small salary and a commission over so much per month. But with all of them, if you don't sell enough they will find someone who will.

You get paid ONLY if you sell. It could be a percentage of the sale or a flat fee per sale. There is no guarantee of any income.

You get paid for what you sell. If you sell nothing that day then you take home nothing.
