my ram clock cycle is 1333MHz. Why is it running at half the speed?

then how is 1333MHz and 672 MHz related besides one is half of the other. I'm not understanding the terminology "double date rate". If it's double, shouldn't it be running at 2666MHz?

    Because it's DDR RAM.

EDIT: Double data rate means it transfers data at twice the rate per clock cycle as SDR RAM.
