Let’s put it this way, in just Iraq alone and since 2003 over 500,000 innocent civilians would quite possibly still be alive today if it wasn’t for our blundering missteps!!!

Exploited their resources and fleeced them by selling them weapons systems they did not need. Then went to war with them.

We made a deal with Saudi Arabia back in the 50's to pump oil for them and in return we had cheap gas in America for many years. The worst things we did there was to constantly interfere militarily beginning with our sending forces to Lebanon under the Reagan administration then the two Iraq wars, then the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. And then we got into the war in Syria. Going back to the 50's we helped install the Shah in Iran which is why the Iranians regimes hate us so much though many of the people do not hate us. Bin Laden hated us because we had troops in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf war and he wanted to be the one to guard the holy sites of Mecca and Medina with his army from the war against Russia in Afghanistan known as the Muja Hadeem or the Children of God but the Saudis rejected his offer so he eventually planned the 9/11 attack to get even with us. The leaders of ISIS had spent time in our prisons in Iraq and planed the Islamic State while they were our prisoners.

One reason for the hatred of the US in the Middle East is American foreign policy. The US has a long history of supporting dictators even though the people want them gone.  The US also has a history of ousting governments that, in the US' eyes enact policies that are not favorable to US interests. Look up the overthrow of the Iranian government in the early 50's and the installation of the shah. You could also look at the US invasion of Iraq in the early 2000's.  Saddam was no threat to the US.  Then there is using the Middle East as a battleground in a proxy war with Russia and the former USSR. A very recent example is Trump's betrayal of the Kurds who were at the forefront in the fight against ISIS. Look at the current ban on countries which are predominantly Muslim.

You could also look at the exploitation of resources such as oil. Then there is the US taking sides without any real understanding of the issues.

Further to the good answer below, the West is severely disliked for the continued support of the state of Isreal in a place that used to be called Palestine, where the residents of that place were ejected to live in camps to make way for settlers from other lands. Many jewish people went to live there after WW2 because it says in the bible that god gave them that land and many christians supported that plan which left the muslim residents displaced and a bit cross.

It says in the bible, that God cast the Jews out of Palestine therefore-after to wander the world.

They left Europa because they didn't want to help with the rebuilding after ww2. Life was much sweeter in Palestine than in war torn Europa. Plenty of American $

Apart from the wars, supplying them weapons to beat themselves up, playing side against side, exploiting resources?

I have no idea. Could just be a cultural thing!

It's very simple. They are Muslims and hate all non-believers. We do not believe in their religion.
