What happens to wishes made at Disney world? Where do necklaces go once thrown into the water?

A lot of people make wishes and toss coins, necklaces, rings and other valuables into Disney world’s fountains ponds lakes lagoons pools streams moats and canals. What happens to all this loot? Where does it go? Do the princesses get it? Where does it actually go?

Update:

I assume with the many visitors to Disney the sum of all the wishes would be a lot? Do the imagineers get to keep the wish loot in exchange for making the magic? Who gets all the loot?

Update 2:

I am asking about the loot, not the wishes themselves as they are not tangible and presumably go to the stars. What does Disney do with all that loot? Who ultimately receives it?

The let the Make-a-Wish kids wade in there to fish the coins and "jewelry" out.

All of the famous fountains - like Trevi, also, pretty much do as Cogito said but in their own ways. Late at night....

The coins are cleaned and saved until the end of each year and then they go to a charity which has been selected by the cast members by vote.

Any other items would be given to charities to sell.

Guests are encouraged to throw in coins but throwing other things in is a bad idea.

Wishes can't be 'thrown' anywhere.  They're just in your head.

They fish it out and resell it at the gift shop and wishes are not tangible so they dont go anywhere
