What would be the average operating temperature of an LM386 chip in room temperature?

    What is thould be is in the permitted range set by the maker - eg. probably 0 - 70'C

    What it actually is depends on the power it is dissipating and how much cooling or heat sinking it has, though the PCB it is mounted to and any additional heatsink.

    That is totally dependant on the physical design of whatever device it is in and how that is being used.

    The operating temperature is 0C to 70C according to the Datasheet.
