Um....they do. Carnivores are opportunistic. If they can kill it easily and they're hungry, they will. Often, another predator is difficult to contend with, so it is a bit less common in general. But it still happens.

They do. Foxes are killed and eaten by wolves, coyotes and lynx. Every summer our city has warnings on the news about coyotes killing and eating small dogs in the city here.

Dogs kill small animals, including kittens and cats, weasels, mink.

Hawks and eagles kill small dogs, cats, mink, weasels, and a range of omnivores like raccoons, opossums and skunks.

Carnivores do eat other carnivores. Polar Bears mostly eats seals and seals are carnivores. They will also eat Polar Bear cubs. All species of snake are carnivores and there are some species of snake, e.g. King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah), that will only eat other snakes.

They do. Coyotes eat a lot of house cats for example. In general, however, predators have claws and teeth that make them more dangerous to prey on than herbivores, even though herbivores may still have dangerous teeth and powerful kicks with sharp hooves.

Your plan would save a lot of money at home if the dog ate the cat.

This is just a guess. When a meat-eater eats a plant-eating animal, it gets the benefit of the plants that animal ate. If the meat-eater eats a carnivore that eats a plant-eating animal, that sort of dilutes the benefits.
