Car broken into at twin peaks in San Francisco ?

i don’t even know what to I called the police and filed a report but they don’t care/have better things to deal with. I was at the top of twin peaks and parked and to my knowledge it was a patrolled area. They stole a laptop, a backpack, and a dvd player.

Do you think they broke in because of the backpack and knew my laptop was in there?

Thanks for all your help

There's no telling what might have attracted the thief (thieves), but leaving anything in a vehicle and leaving the vehicle unattended for very long is almost an invitation to see what those prone to thievery can find. It's terrible that areas like Twin Peaks are fertile ground to do this kind of mischief.

In any city it is a very bad idea to leave ANYTHING in your car.

Thieves can get into you car in 15 seconds.

Consider this a life lesson learned.

What part of "don't leave valuables in your car" do you need to have explained to you, exactly?

Help with what? Kiss stolen belongings goodbye and let this be a learning experience.

Like Anonymous told you, unless you had a tracking device (like on cellphones) you can kiss your past goodbye (Aerosmith song)....
