Have you ever made a float with any soda other then root beer?

Do people not make sherbet floats anymore? When I was a kid birthday parties gave you a choice of a root beer float or a sherbet float. The sherbet was usually orange and it was made up with 7up. It was good even if I prefer root beer. I think a vanilla float would be just fine with cream soda or birch beer. I've made it Irn Bru before and liked it despite the looks of aghast horror around me.

I use Coke or Pepsi to make floats but buy the ones which are made from Cane Sugar and not Corn based sugar. Floats so made will make you not miss Root beer floats.

Yes, using cola rather than root beer. Never clear sodas, and would assume they’re not tasty.

When I was a kid, back in the 1960s(UK),they were made with Coca Cola,or Lowe's American Cream Soda.

I hate floats. Never liked them, never will.  Milkshakes are the way to go....

The Mountain Dew float I made was actually pretty gross. Which is why I said I never again in the description.
