Will a gsx1100f motor needs mods to fit gsx750w frame ?

Been told the bandit 1200 and gsxr1100 motor will fit straight in with minor changes. But would a gsx1100f be a straight forward swap. I notice the gsxf used the 34mm makuni but the gsx750w uses the keihin 34mm carb but would coils, cdi and mounts be the same?

It will almost certainly require modification of both the engine and frame, and components from the 750 (like the coils) are unlikely to be compatible.

    Things rarely just 'work'.

I dont think the motor will need modification. It would be the FRAME of the new bike. Motor mounts might need to be fabbed up. Gas tank lift maybe. Will the air box fit? Im guessing of course . Thats not a bike Im familiar with.

A quick Google search showed that some are drop-in and require a small amount of work.  All depends on year of bike and donor motor.

    Yes it will require mods.

If you join an owner's club you will probably find someone who has already done the swap.
