facebook has more features that people actually use to network with their friends and have an ongoing dialogue with them.

myspace just didn't do all the things facebook does.

i found it to be confusing and difficult to use

Myspace decided to change and base their site around music rather than networking. People love music sure, but people first got onto myspace to make and talk to friends and facebook offered that after myspace changed.

Myspace Failed Because they made Changes that people did not like and they Refused to Listen to there Users the Biggest change that made a lot of people leave was when they took away the Option to Customize your own Profile the way you like it once they did that Everyone Left

Facebook Succeeded Because they kept there Site User Friendly and Easy to Use

    myspace was getting regularly "hacked".

that is, kids were using easy passwords and people were guessing them.

facebook started small, but frustrated users flocked to it as it had a friendlier color scheme (which was actually why i hated it), and was just as easy to use.

ultimately, people's accounts were still getting "hacked", due to facebook becoming more popular, but by then, the amount of people using it had skyrocketed, and it became indispensable.

It didn't fail; the owner sold it for a LOT of money and is living it up until his dying days

The MySpace business model did not include selling end-user data for profit. FaceBook's does.

Myspace had too many bells and whistles.  Facebook had a cleaner layout and was better and connecting you to people you know in real life.

More mature people went to FB and kids were mostly on Myspace.
