    To make the question hard.

    Really, there's no other reason for it.   Since foxes are actually predators on many farm animals - like chickens.

    I dunno... is he supposed to let the chicken eat the grain and the fox eat the chicken and then just carry the fox across? Or maybe he should eat the fox and walk across alone...

    He accidentally trapped a baby fox and her daughter wanted it as a pet.
