    That's not Crumb's style, he did different backgrounds and shading completely different than what's in the picture.  See the word WOOD in the lower right?  That's the artist.

    The other two posters are mistaken.  This has nothing at all to do with R. Crumb and looks nothing whatsoever like his artwork. 

    This is a parody of Little Orphan Annie done in Mad Magazine by Wally Wood.  Similar artists to Wood are Milton Caniff,  Will Eisner, Alex Raymond, Hal Foster, and Roy Crane, all of whom influenced Wally Wood's work.

    No, R. Crumb INVENTED that style. Zap Comix, Fritz the Cat. Fabulous Freak Brothers, Mr. Natural. Good movie about him titled just Crumb.
