Will the next decade be a time of great growth for followers of Christ?

It seems we've had enough of gov't corruption, rising rates of hopelessness, suicide, and strife. We've had enough of sleazy entertainment, disrespect toward parents, and life with no rules at all.

It seems everyone feels a need to reach out in kindness, acceptance, charity, and peace.

Kind of like the answer was with us all along, but we needed to rebel against it to realize we were wrong and He was right.

Read Ecclesiastes. Solomon tried, wisdom, money, women, food and wine, work, good deeds, everything he could think of and all of it was vanity and chasing after the wind; meaningless and unfulfilling.

For “Alexander the Great found the philosopher Diogenes looking attentively at a pile of human bones. To Alexander's inquiry Diogenes explained, "I am searching for the bones of your father but cannot distinguish them from those of a slave.”

Your words make it sound as though we haven't had enough intolerance and I think that's what's going to be growing in the next decade.

I would hope that now people are mostly getting a decent education, people will realise that it's perfectly possible to be hopeful, kind, accepting, charitable and peaceful without resorting to believing in and worshipping some imaginary deity.

We don't need to believe to be kind, charitable, etc. But without a formal commitment to these things as God requires, we will only do them when it suits us. Not when it's really hard. We may become a corrupt politician, ruining lives for gain, yet giving some money to charity. Not God's way.
