Are there any cities in/near Southern California that are affordable to live in?

    The further east you go the cheaper it is.  If you don't mind the heat.  So Riverside, San Bernardino, maybe Redlands.  Barstow (ugh!).  Needles.  Blythe.  (Well, let's not get ridiculous).

      I lived in Pomona which was cheaper than Los Angeles. Like Diane said So Cal. is a huge area, some tiny countries can fit inside L.A. or San Bernardino counties.

    it's affordable if you rent a room from someone house. that's what alot of people are doing now.

    Near So Ca is a huge area; and every smaller area has its expensive and less so. The area is too huge and your Q is too vague to really give you serious answers. You need to factor in where you work, for example, what your budget is, etc etc

    Depends on what you call affordable. What is affordable for one person may not be for another person.
