The Aftermath of World War II was the beginning of a new era, defined by the decline of all European colonial empires and simultaneous rise of two superpowers: the Soviet Union (USSR) and the United States (USA).

It depends on how one defines winning!

The Japanese lost the shooting war, but obtained what they wanted for their country (access to the world market).

Germany also lost the shooting war, but got what they wanted (obliteration of restitution payments for WWI and a reconstructed industrial base).

     New Zealand

     South Africa

     Ethiopia

     Brazil

     Philippines

     Mongolia

     Nepal

     Mexico

     Cuba

Nobody won the war.  While the allies freed the world from the forces of fascism, the cost was very high, and the Soviet Union remained a totalitarian state, half of Germany became an oppressive communist state, along with Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and Yugoslavia.  China and half of Korea also became oppressive communist states.  To top it off, Russia and Japan never signed a peace treaty to end the war, so technically WWII isn't even over yet.
