Is there a relatively slow time of year in Las Vegas for the casinos?

Yea, every Monday through Thursday.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday are busy.

If you're looking for a deal, just don't stay there on a Friday or Saturday night.   Also don't go there if there is a major event happening.   I made the mistake of being there when the Mayweather v Pacquiao fight was at the MGM - it was crazy.

No holidays. No spring break. Check when you are free, to see what conventions are in town to avoid. Generally, I would think Vegas is more accessible in late January, well before Valentine's Day.
