The filpinos at work are very “cliquey”, is this usual for them? They don’t chat to others socially & some people get offended?

They may feel shy or unsure if you like them.

Try smiling and asking how are you. That can open up a conversation.

Employees should not become offended if their co-workers don't talk to them in the workplace on non-work related topics.

People get offended because the Sun rises in the East and they don't like it. The  Filipinos that I worked with over the years were the friendliest people you could ever deal with.

People are really getting offended easily these days.   I could care less whether or not a group of people are "cliquey" at work.

    Depends.

At Harris DTS, the Filipino workers  mixed freely with Whites, Chinese, Japanese.

At Hewlett-Packard; cliquey, gossipy. But so were the Whites. I Hate HP.

Personally, I want to be left Alone, do my work. Only socialize when there is something work related, like an ECO or training. I only give 40 hours/week to my job, I'm  Not  married to it..
