Android vs iOS in the United States?

I like Java and I prefer Android devices. I started to learn Android Studio and how to make apps, but it was pointed out to me that iOS is a better choice for getting hired. Can I get hired with either skill or should I ditch learning Android apps?

Well, imho it doesn't really matter much if you are an Android or iOS developer, as long as you're a professional and you're doing your job really well. Both these technologies are in demand in the USA and if you have started with Java, why stop? Just be the best in the field!
