So the IG report found that Obama never wiretapped Trump or his campaign, right?

Correct.   The IG wrote "... we concluded that the quantum of information articulated by the FBI to open the individual investigations on [George] Papadopoulos, [Carter] Page, [Michael] Flynn, and [Paul] Manafort in August 2016 was sufficient to satisfy the low threshold established by the Department and the FBI."   Translation: surveillance was legal.

    Yes.

The inspector General's report essentially debunked the claims by Trump and conservatives about the Russia investigation. They found that there was a legitimate reason to investigate people associate with the Trump campaign, and Trump himself. They also concluded that the people involved made decisions based on real and reasonable counterintelligence and criminal concerns and not based on their political beliefs. They concluded that political bias played no appreciable role in the conduct of the investigation.

What they did find, which was negative about the investigation, is that there were a number of mistakes, some of the minor some of them serious, with some of the applications for the fisa warrants. The most serious one is that they accuse a justice department lawyer of altering an email to try and bolster the case to surveil Carter page, then a former Trump campaign adviser. The coverage of what exactly he did has been a little complicated, but it sounds like he remove references to the fact that page, who'd been a target of Russian recruitment efforts for years, had also been cooperating with the CIA. This information may have cause the court to see him, and his potential contacts with Russians, as less suspicious. However, the Inspector General also did not complete that any of the mistakes which the justice department made would have caused the warrants to not be approved.

So all in all, the report is largely -4 Republican since it debunks there playing that the Russia investigation was a hoax and a Witch Hunt which was motivated primarily by the desire for revenge on the part of Trumps political enemies.

Right other than doctoring emails, lying 17 times to courts to get permission to spy on Trump's campaign, and then lying about their about the dossier first to the courts about it's legitimacy and then to the public about it's usage, the IG report didn't find anything wrong.

That's what it found. The Carter Page surveillance was entirely justified and done lawfully.  Moreover, it also documented that every single conspiracy theory coming from Trump and his wing-nut supporters about their "deep state" were totally false.

They wire tapped CARTER PAGE who just happened to be working inside the TRUMP campaign.

This after lying to the courts to get the warrant.

The IG did not look into that, it did find that the FBI used false evidence to get the warrant to wiretap. It did happen under Obama's watch, so what did he know and when did he now it?
