Why can’t I sleep in my own room after being away from home?

If I go away on a holiday or stay the night at my friends house, I sleep perfectly fine. However, once I return home and sleep in my own room, sleep is almost impossible?

Perhaps there are issues with too much light, sounds, even odors and sensations bothering your skin.

Or you could be too easily distracted by easily accessible activities that you think you could be doing, such as watching TV, reading, listening to music, etc.
