Reverse hdmi switcher?
Is there a way to change the roles on a hdmi switcher by making the inputs outputs

the switch doesn't control anything. it simply takes a single input, and connects to multiple outputs.
but you CANNOT change the output on your device, and make it an input. not sure what you are trying to do, but if you want to take HDMI INTO a computer, then you need a capture box. like this:

Not really; HDMI was a protocol originally mostly set up for copy rights protection. There is a handshake involved where the level of protocol and codes are relayed between components..To try and modify the function or to use an HDMI component in an unauthorized manner will send red flags over your connection, not allowing a proper hand shake to take place. This will lead to aberrations in your signal drop outs freezing no sound etc.In some cases it can also disable the function of your equipment either permanently or at least until you preform a format to original factory settings.

Use an HDMI splitter instead.

The electrical connections in each port are strictly one-way, input or output as required by the design, and there is no way to change that.
If you want to send one source to multiple destinations, use an HDMI splitter - they are cheap and readily available.
