It isn't only the Brits. Charles will become King of sixteen realms, the united Kingdom is just one of them. The people of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Jamaica etc, after a suitable period of mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth, will welcome the new King and Queen.

The primary meaning of "Queen" is  "wife of a King" and every wife of every King of England/ Great Britain has had the title Queen since Edmund I (939-946 CE). Both his wives had the title. That means that Queen Camilla will be crowned alongside her husband, Charles, just as the current Queen's mother, Queen Elizabeth,  was crowned alongside George VI, Queen Mary was crowned alongside George V, Queen Alexandra was crowned alongside Edward VII and so on.

Queen Jane was Queen regnant, not Queen consort but was removed by her cousin Mary after nine days.

No. The majority do not want her to be queen OR Charles to be king. Both Charles and Camilla are far less popular than William and Kate. People want Charles and Camilla skipped over in the line of succession.

Don't the British love bejeweled and dotty old drag queens? HM should tell the truth about the Camilla woman during her Christmas speech.

The 16 realms are used to the change in succession when it is time. No one looks forward to the death of a monarch.

When the Queen dies, and her son, Charles, ascends the throne, his wife becomes Queen Consort--wife of the reigning king. Camilla will have no hereditary powers to reign. She is a support. Camilla will not be  Queen Regnant, the reigning monarch.

She will be Queen consort not Queen Consort. "Consort" like "regnant" is a description not part of the title. For all purposes her title will be Her Majesty, Queen Camilla.

I cannot remember what her title would be, but she would not become queen automatically. That is just like Prince Phillip. He is not King.

Her title will be Queen Consort but she would be known as Queen (if she/he decide that).  It's NOT like the husband of a Queen Regnant - Prince Philip could never become King because they outrank a Queen which he couldn't do as he's not the one in direct line to the Throne.
