What is the mushy stuff in Pecan Pie? (theres the crust, the mushy stuff, and the pecans)?

    the mushy stuff, the filling, is made out of eggs, butter and sugar.

    Similar to custard (which uses eggs, milk and white sugar), but pecan pie often uses brown sugar. Sometimes molasses or corn syrup (which is basically a thick liquid sugar).

    Whether you are making baked custard or pecan pie, as the eggs bake, they firm up the liquid custard/filling.

    A SUGARY / TREACLE MIX WITH ADDED CRUSHED PECANS, WITH WHOLE PECANS ON THE TOP.
