Would the nightmare on elm street movies have been as good if Freddy was a woman.?

Ok so I’ve seen the original series of movies and it got me thinking would the series have been as good if say Freddy was a woman and Nancy was replaced as a boy

It could have been as good, if  they did it right, and made the movie exactly the same way, only switch the genders.  On the other hand, if they made being a woman, Krueger's only character trait, then it wouldn't be as good.

Only in Japan I think. They seem to have a huge fear of thin women with long hair and super long fingers/nails, it's their 'go to' monster in Japanese horror.

Only if Linda Blair was Freddy and Michael J Pollard was Nancy
