Does a cappella have harmony?
Someone is telling me a cappella doesn’t have harmony because one person can’t sing multiple notes at once. Is this true?

Yes it's true. If you know what harmony is, you know it's true. A cappella is not something that can have harmony. A cappella is singing without instrumental accompaniment. A cappella singing can be harmonized singing with two or more voices.

A cappella music just means that there is no music instrument accompaniment for the singer or singers.
A singer cannot sing multiple notes simultaneously, however, a cappella music written for choirs does include harmony (soprano, alto, tenor, bass).Source(s): I am an assistant choir director

A capella doesn't mean only one singer. It means singers and no instruments.
