Because for years colleges have been bastions of liberalism, and attempts by Republicans to bash them lead to accusations of being "anti-intellectual".

Because Republicans tend to dismiss the scientific consensus about global warming.

    Because of this quote:

Because they don't think objectively. They slam their heads like retards and believe any news media and far right outlets baby feed to them.

I've found the people who say that are very ignorant. They rarely debate. Ad hominem is there only rebuttal.

Well, a lot of Republicans themselves will say that.  Not all by any stretch, but many.  It doesn't mean that they are criticizing learning or intelligence.  Rather it's a critique of the 'Ivory Tower' effect whereby a person becomes so enamored of on-paper knowledge that they forget common sense or reality.  There are a great many things that academics will talk themselves into that become a sort of faux-scholarship that falls apart in reality.

Not all of them are, that's silly.  But that seems to be where most of the anti-intellectualism resides.

Just listen to the way they sneer at academics as "elitist", or cower from higher education as "liberal indoctrination".  You won't hear complaints like that from most Democrats.
