How do climate change skeptics get round the issue of quantum mechanics?

The basic principle behind global warming and climate change is that greenhouse gas molecules have the ability to retain heat within the atmosphere.  They do so because they vibrate at a frequency that corresponds to the wavelength of outgoing thermal radiation.

This is something that is governed by the laws of quantum mechanics, these laws are universal and invariable. There’s no getting around the fact that the more greenhouse gases there are the more heat will be retained.

I’m aware that the skeptics and deniers tend to avoid the science of global warming but I’m hoping some of them will at least attempt to disprove the laws of QM or provide some alternative and demonstrable hypothesis.

This is one of five questions I’m asking, please see my other questions.

Thanks in advance to all who answer.

You see why this isn’t working to convince cons right? Note the answers your getting that attack individuals character or simply claim  that climate change isn’t real or caused by man.....

None of them are arguing against climate change by refuting the science. Literally not one. There is no interest in understanding why scientist have come to this conclusion, no interest in understanding the research and methods used to measure Co2 output, the thinning of ice caps and deforestation.......To them this is more about what team they play for. Not believing that man is causing the climate to change is simply a Republican position and that’s all that matters to them

They don't. They just come up with all kinds of pseudo scientific theories at the best.

First, I doubt that there's a denier in here that has studied quantum mechanics even at a university upper division level.

Second, none of them actually understand the greenhouse effect anyway, so why even worry about the quantum mechanics that lies at its core?

What's important is that greenhouse gases absorb and emit radiation--that's the essence of the greenhouse effect. I think it's a bit misleading to talk about "retaining heat", it's the re-direction of energy toward the surface that matters.

They don't, they use political junk climate science or basically IPCC driven crap science.

The K/W energy budget diagram highlights their junk science. It portrays nothing but a "perpetual motion engine" which violates the 1st and 2nd Laws of Thermodynamics.

The back radiation feature is the foundation of the so-called greenhouse effect. Where CO2 is supposed to trap heat (impossible) and re-cycle it down to the surface. Common sense asks how can CO2 at a temperature of -50 C cycle down and heat a warmer object, this is a violation of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Where does the energy come from to do this?

In order to make this happen the alarmist's resort to their man made junk science and fabricate energy out of nothing, which violates the first Law of Thermodynamics.

Look at the input from the Sun, now look at the output from the Earth's surface, this violates other laws of physics, input = output, PLank's black body law. Then look at the down welling radiation (back radiation), it is higher than the Sun's input. Downright fabrication.

Nope, it is not “flat Earth physics”, the factor four is the exact number you get from solving the integral of solar flux over the spherical surface of the Earth, taking into account that one hemisphere is night. I could show you this, but I don’t believe you understand calculus or higher math.

The people in denial of human caused climate change do not understand scientific evidence, so there is a very low chance they will understand quantum mechanics. So these deniers cannot disprove quantum mechanics and do not because they don’t understand it.

But at what time scales are we talking about regarding the heat being absorbed in the offending gases?

The climate change issue was dreamed up by socialists as a means to take our money and freedom.

If you wanted your argument to sound like disingenuous corporate propaganda that's how you would present it.

There is no denial of how "greenhouse " gases work, although I would not call it quantum mechanics.  The skepticism lies in the reality of lack of proof of causation. Not going to get into a deep discussion with someone who does not even really grasp how CO2 absorbs energy in a non-quantum fashion.  Most of the energy is absorbed by bonds and converted to kinetic energy (vibration, rotation, translation) and "heat" rather than by electron orbital changes.  There is no line spectrum involved, it is not quantum chemistry.

Sfancik, you are arguing quantum mechanics for global warming and flat earth to geologists.  You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Climate change is real, in fact it's been happening since the formation of Earth. Man-made climate change, however, is a joke. And what's more of a joke is the 'fix' for climate change is to raise our taxes and change our lifestyle.

Actually, I am a college graduate. And I am smart enough to have a discussion and not just name call and insult people who disagree with me.
