Can you be arrested for knowing about criminal activity and not reporting it to police?

    That depends on what the crime is that we're talking about here and if the police can prove that you knew about the crime. If you know that somebody is selling drugs committing a child crime or a rape or murder and you probably should all over Facebook that you knew about it that you failed to report it. You might end up getting charged as an accessory to the crime.

    It depends on the laws of your state. In most cases and for most crimes, you wouldn't be under any obligation to report it so you wouldn't be arrested. For certain crimes like child abuse, it is illegal not to report it and you can get in trouble.

    Not anywhere in the US. There are positions where a person is legally required to report certain crimes. Failure to do so can result in loss of licensing for the positions, and sometimes monetary fines. It CAN'T result in arrest of criminal charges.

    Mandated reporters are people who have regular contact with vulnerable people such as children, disabled persons, and senior citizens, and are therefore legally required to ensure a report is made when abuse is observed or suspected.

    Not reporting can cause you to lose your job or worse
