Simply: Buy a house or car at a low price, make a few (mostly cosmetic) repairs, then sell it for a profit.

You buy it and sell it immediately, hopefully NOT being on the hook for bringing the property/house up to code.

It means that you find a car a truck or house a motorcycle at a good price because it needs a little bit of maintenance or a little bit of repairs and you get it at a cheap price. And you very quickly do the maintenance or the little repairs and put some paint on it or polish the car and clean the dirt out of it and turn around and make a big profit by selling it.

It means buying the item and then selling it relatively quickly for profit. Usually the flipper does some repairs or upgrades which is how they're able to sell it at a higher price.

It means buying a house, making some up-grades to it & selling it for a higher price within a short period of time.

Buying something with the intent to resell it quickly for a profit.  For example, buying a run down house, spending a short amount of time fixing it up and then putting it back on the market for a higher price.
