Are it normal to buy a phone everytime it dies?

Literally in total cost $80,000

    No!

    Buy good quality phones and look after them, using them until they are no longer suitable. Get a good quality case & screen protector each time.

    I have never has a phone "die" - each has been used for 2 - 5 years, until something gave me a good reason to get a newer one. 

    Then the older ones were usually sold, often for not all that much less than I paid for them. I do keep a spare older one just in case, though.

    unless you get it repaired or go through a service plan which will replace the dead phone for you.

    No.

    Normally, you recharge the phone's battery before it dies. It'll save you a ton of cash.

    Even if you had that money it seems like a kind of waste you could have helped hundreds people if you had donated that to charity... oy..
