Why all the religions that profess to be Christian?

How do you explain all the different conflicting religions in Christendom when the Bible teaches that all Christians should "speak in agreement" and be "united in the same mind and line of though."?

Because Christ's church died with the apostles. No foundation, no building. No apostles or prophets, no church. Some people have obfuscated or twisted things. Others have tried to improve things, but beating a dead horse won't make it run any faster.

There can't be a revealed religion that sooner or later philosophers do not think that they can "improve." It happened to Judaism. It happened to Christianity.

In a word, Protestantism. Jesus Christ founded one Church, said it was to remain one, and promised that one Church "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth", and "Whatsoever you bind upon Earth is bound in Heaven", and "He who hears you hears Me". Anyone who reads the Bible should know this. And today, 2,000 years later, that one Church remains one in belief, one in teaching, one in worship, one in biblical understanding throughout the world. The doctrinal chaos of Protestantism began a few hundred years ago when one proud and misguided Catholic priest thought he could do a better job of interpreting the Bible than the Church that created the Bible from its own writings. Before Luther died there were already half a dozen Protestant churches that split off from his church because they didn't agree with his interpretations off the Bible. Today the number of denominations is over 6,000. And that doesn't even include the 20,000+ Protestant churches that consider themselves "non-denominational". Total doctrinal chaos, exactly the opposite of whet Jesus Christ intended for His followers.

The Bible says that many will say "Lord, Lord", but they are not His.Β  Catholicism leads to hell, orthodox leads to hell, and protestant leads to hell, because all those systems teach works for salvation.Β  Avoid them all.

Nobody can be good enough to avoid hell. The truth is that death leads to immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether the person believed in Jesus for eternal life, or not.

    .

The truth is that Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death

Thank Luther. Β He established the precedent of anyone unhappy with the status quo leaving and starting his own church -- whether or not he was in any way qualified to do so.

They all try to convince each other that they are correct and the others are wrong and it gets messed up.

Each one attempts to be "less wrong" than the others.

What you suggest was predicted 20 centuries ago. Mt. 7:15, Acts 20:29-30, 2 Tim. 4:3-4, 2 Pet. 2:1-3. But that "must" happen, 1 Cor. 11:19.

    I know.

Look at the cult of the jehovah's witnesses.

They couldn't be any less christian if they tried.

I think Jim Jones had the true church. All of his followers were on the same page, right?

  • Because that's what humans do.Β

Have you ever played telephone (Chinese whispers to our friends in England)? Someone whispers a sentence to another person, and that person repeats what they think they heard, and so forth. By the end of it, the sentence is always garbled, and almost always funny as hell.

The Bible is an example of people playing telephone for the last two thousand years. Get the picture now?
