Did Kawhi really hold the Lakers and Raptors hostage during free agency?

I am from Toronto and people are saying that Kawhi did not want to go to those teams unless he got what he wanted. Is it true? They were saying he wanted Masai to trade Ibaka Lowry and Siakam for PG and Westbrook otherwise he wasn't going to resign.

The Clippers were honestly the only team he wanted to play for.  However, the Clips had to trade for a superstar in order to land him.  The Clippers would have traded for Kevin Durant (maybe) if he didn't tear his achilles.  Paul George was their backup choice

If they couldn't then he'd go back to the Raptors IF they were able to land a 2nd superstar.  The Lakers were never really in the running unless neither the Clippers nor Raptors failed to get a deal done. The PG13/Westbrook trade fell through because Masai didn't want to give up Siakam.Kawhi wanted another superstar because he has injuries and doesn't want his team to fall apart when he misses 1/3 of the season due to "load management"

I don't think he held anybody hostage.  The teams clearly knew what he wanted, it was just a matter of getting a deal done.
