Auto mechanics - If I use a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter on an impact wrench, will the adapter reduce the torque output? And what about vice versa?

    Too short to affect the torque.  No.

      I was wondering about the length, because they make torque reducers but they are longer. Thanks for the extra detail.

    Just like when you use a deep impact socket compared with a short impact socket you lose a bit of torque. Adapters will decrease torque too.

    If something won't come loose with the air compressor PSI or electric impact wrench you have use a torch to heat the metal up or start the bolt or nut loose with a breaker bar before using the impact wrench.

    As long as the adapter is good quality and can stand the torque involved, it should have no effect at all.
