How long will the hybrid batteries last?

Thinking about buying a 2012 Honda civic hybrid with 109,000 miles. Do they get replaced when it gets traded in and resold? I have a non hybrid civic now for about 15 years.

Don't do it. Those batteries are at the end of life and even if they were repaced they may have put in remanufactured batteries that will only last a year or two. Never buy a used hybrid or electric car unless it has extremely low mileage.

As in like they get cleaned up?  No.

I don't know who would put thousands of dollars worth of new batteries in an 8 year old car -  a dealer would do it as often as they put new engines in gas car trade-ins . . . . . . . never.
