When I was a little girl I could not see the end of the violence in the Middle East.It was a daily occurence on the news and the radio 1970s 1980s and New Years eve.It was the bloodiest place to be with bus bombs and suicidal jihadi bombers.

Palestinians have been living in that land for centuries and over time they’ve been conquered and invaded by numerous tribes and empires. During the 7th century the Arabs conquered the area, converted everyone from Christianity/Judaism/polytheism to Islam and intermarried with the locals. They also invited the Jews back into Jerusalem. The Christians banned them from that area.

Secondly, there are many paintings, books, journal articles and maps you can find about the area and it’s people.

Because the Jews were persecuted in Europe, they European government didn’t want them in their country and dumped them into the Middle East. The Palestinians were a majority in that area but 2/3 of the land were given to the Jews even though they were a minority.

Palestinians use to be called Filastine.

    a)  The term "Palestine" has only existed for the land around the current Middle East including Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, parts of Egypt and the current Israel. It existed under Roman rule and again under the British trust administration from 1918-1948 at which time the other nations were created by the allies following WW-1 from the "Ottoman Empire".

    b)  For a person to be "Palestinian", they would need to be 71 years old or more.  The people who call themselves "Palestinians" are actually Arabs belonging to other surrounding nations, whether they be Muslim or Christian.

    c)  The UN passed a resolution that created Israel in 1948 and an area for Muslim Arabs, but the surrounding Muslim nations attacked Israel and asked the Muslim Arabs to TEMPORALLY leave and return to take Jewish properties after the fighting. After the Muslin nations were beaten the Arabs that left were not allowed to return by the fellow Arabs. The Israelis took SOME (nor all) of the area destined for the Muslim Arabs. Some Christian Arabs and an even smaller number of Muslim Arabs remained in Israel as citizens.

    d)  Israel has allowed some areas to be under Arab (Muslim and Christian) control but that has caused "military security" problems for the Israelis.

The Palestinians. Appalling the way we went swanning around the works carving countries up or allocating them without any consideration to the people who lived there,
