About 10.1% of us claimed some Irish ancestry in a 2017 survey by the US Census Bureau.

ALL of them!  Everyone gets to claim the "Irish" on St. Paddy's Day!

On St. Patrick's day they all seem to be magically irish. Americans are the only people I know who seem to claim the nationality of a great-great uncle as theirs.

My grandmother was Irish, but I would never say I am irish. I am the nationality of the country in which I was born.
