Hired as Full Time but hours cut by season in CA?

I work in Malibu, CA and was hired as a full time employee. However, as we moved towards winter, my hours were cut due to seasonal changes. As an hourly worker (non-salary) am I obligated to work full time hours or is this perfectly legal for my employers?

    This is perfectly legal.

They can also let you go, lay you off, or fire you for the same reason.

Perfectly legal. They are not obligated to give you any hours at all.
